At the time I was working in "management" for Guitar Center. The customer was a big fat trucker that would come in every week on his way out on his route. After the death trap disguised as "food" shot out of my mouth I gasped and said "you can have whatever you want in the store...gasp...for 10% off."

Dibs on "Death by Broccoli" as a band name.
My kid's name in rock band was Broccoli Atrophy. Something from random generator, he thought it sounded metal and it stuck. Makes no sense but I still think that is funny when I think about it. Like, omergergerd rotting vegetables.

It's kinda a personal thing with me. My Dad fought those assholes during WWII from the bombardiers plexiglass of a B-17, the first book he ever gave me was on Herr Hitler, and I've been something of a student of that war ever since: it *was* a unique war because they really *were* demonic; unadulterated evil. And you have no responsibility for my being a bit uncomfortable. :)

So now I'm wondering if, perhaps, satire may be the best way to fight those of similar beliefs today, so thanks for that. And thanks for the compliment about the post for my friend.
you wouldn't happen to know the name of your dad's plane, would you? my grandpa was a pilot on a B-17 named Agmar Q Queen, i believe

Well, keep in mind the man was holding a $6,000 guitar in his other hand. I'm also kind of a wise ass. I ended up giving him a bunch of free stuff and free studio time in our studio area.

Not off the top of my head but may be able to find out. Do you know which bomb group (Heavy) was he in?
i have a book that says he was in the 94th bomb group, 331st bomb squadron (but it also refers to him as a captain in there and as far as i know he never got higher than 1st lieutenant)

All kinds of stuff on the web about the 94th. Dad was in the 95th (three Presidential Unit Citations). :) We're almost kin!

did your dad ever fly on a plane after that? i'm 99% sure my grandfather never set foot on another aircraft after his service days. just couldn't do it.

Nor did mine so far as I know. And your Grand Dads captaincy may have been a temporary rank: they did that in those days.
