I felt the same about PE posts for a long time. I think really, only in the last year or so have I started to just not care. I have chronic depression issues that can be very crippling at times. I tend to go months at a time where I consider even getting out of bed and sitting down to work for a few hours to be a major victory. I know I'll never be one of those people that wakes up and just grinds stuff out for 6-8 hours and posts huge earnings on here every single day. But I write up my budgets every month, and I refine them each week based on what I've made so far. As long as I'm hitting the goals that I'm setting in my budgets, I just don't feel anymore that I should concern myself with what others are doing.
This so much. Me and working outside of the house haven't worked for out for me, and I've tried lots of different things. Went back to school at 35, finished, and ended up Turking. I'm in an unusual situation where all of my important financial needs are met for me (thanks and RIP grandma). I find it hard to stay motivated sometimes because of this. The money I'm making on here is to provide a better life for my kids, and to have some money to do really cool stuff every once in a while. I actually enjoy it as it gives me something productive to focus my energy on. I think its awesome that people clear $100+/day. I know what a grind it can be to do that especially consistently. I'm glad that we have a place like this to hang with peers a bit because that what is turking/working from home is missing.

Something that I'll never worry about doing being a Turker: Having a job interviewer ask me to tell them about a difficult workplace situation I have had and just sitting there for like 3 minutes and finally just panicking because it is so awkward and just going "I dunno." and having the interview be over.

I always dreaded those sorts of questions. Then, for several years, I found myself in a position where I was having to ask people those very same questions. I think that felt even more awkward for me, watching someone just totally freeze up like that, than actually being the one having to answer.

Just gotta get better at lying. Whenever they ask me these asinine questions I already have hand crafted the perfect bs response the night before :D

At the last job interview, I went to, the person interviewing me (prospective boss) was not even born when I started working in the job she is doing now. I didn't get the job. I think partly because intimidation, partly cos I'm very fat. (and there's no point in pretending that that doesn't happen.

Something that just doesn't happen as a turker, you're right.

I have been asked some of the most stupid questions in interviews. When they have asked me something that I honestly did not have a good answer for, I just say, "I don't really have a good answer for that, and I'm not making one up." I got offered a job once from an interview in which I said that. You just have to act confident when you say it. People also tell me I can make things sound like good answers, because I have a deep voice (authoritative, I guess). :celebrate:
