Surviving the Blue Norther By J. B. Cearley Weather Wisdom

I felt a little sad as I watched the stock trying to drink from the slowly filling tank. I knew they had not had enough water for three days. The water we gave them helped them survive,but it was not adequate. The old cows were off in their milk and it would take three weeks for them to return to normal.
It was two more days before we could return to school: we missed a week all together. The school's water supply was also frozen , and the heating plant could not combat the zero weather.
After 10 days of terrible weather, things returned to normal and we got back to school. Fortunately, none of us became sick as a result of that West Texas "blue norther." The End

been there. done all that minus the windmill. windmill was gone but space still on top of barn roof by the time i came around.

Story is from a book called Country Wisdom from Good Ol' Days first printing, 2001, that I found in a thrift store.
