The chicken you would find would be from a farm with 1000's of other virus infected chicken.

Our egg prices shot up to $7/dozen about a year ago because all of the supplying farms were smashed with some avian virus. Supply of eggs went way down because they had to kill the infected chickens, so suppliers raised their prices waaaaay up to offset their losses.

My father in law- grew up on a large farm and some of the stories that he would tell us would make your stomach crawl....there are certain things that we buy organic....we have about 14 acres but haven't started building yet.
