good morning all! Went to the Kent May 4 th memorial...pretty powerful...I remember reading about it on the front page of the NY Times in 1970
Families all over this state awoke that morning in shock, like there weren't enough shocks during that period of history. High school choir students traveled to Kent State every spring for a contest. I was an accompianist, one thing I was allowed to do in high school years. I mean what could go wrong? It was Kent State. That year as I remember, the contest continued and wary parents allowed their children to attend. On the bus we went that Saturday morning, guarded, but as memory serves me at this late date, we went.
The song I accompanied for a solo singer ...
