It's simple. Some words in English, when spelled, can be entire Spanish phrases. For instance, remember how we were talking about socks earlier?
Socks. S-o-c-k-s.

Me too. Made me think about every survey in which I genuinely claim to prefer complex thinking tasks to simple repetitive ones, but yet I'm like, "oooo-Averys..."

absolutely. i'm just out of practice. that and my brain works weirdly when it comes to foreign languages. I was schooled for many years in Latin and Homeric Greek before ever formally learning a modern, spoken, language. I can get through basic Spanish and Italian but both of those generally filter through Latin before I can translate them (if I don't know the word or phrase already). And as for speaking/conversing in a modern foreign language? nope. 8 years of learning languages that are read and written but not spoken in conversation killed that for me.

I was just kidding anyway. I learned that on Señor Rogers.(translated Mr Rogers. You're welcome) My Spanish is horrible. I could just about get by if I had to but, I don't know. It's not good enough for a qualification in it. wasn't even worth trying. I speak other languages a lot better. I just didn't engage fully when learning Spanish. It didn't hold my interest. Others do.

I'm pretty sure they're all Spanish words but, I'm also pretty sure you can't use them like that.
