I was just talking about a very small earthquake awhile back with my realtors, and how I thought it was just a big truck going by the trap house I currently call home. It was only after my phone started going nuts to tell me my town just had an earthquake that I went, "Ohh...that's why bearnie was so upset by the truck."

Cheer up. Homeowners insurance for an earthquake zone is hellacious. I'm sure the shooty hoopers wish they didn't live so close to a fault line.

On the plus side, apparently being 10 miles away from a fault line on both sides (and then boxed in by 2 more on the other sides but a bit further back) wasn't close enough to need an extra $$$ earthquake policy. We just shake like an old washing machine occasionally and haven't had an extreme earthquake since 1952 that I'm sure will never, ever happen again

I'm in Southern California, in the San Fernando Valley, and now that you mention it I can't remember the last time we've felt an earthquake.It's been years. I wonder if we're overdue for a little shakin'.

My partner- in-not-literal-crime works at the Spaceport in Mojave, but we live in the cutesy mountain town that the PCT goes thru like 30 minutes North or so. There are tons of tiny ones all over the state that people just don't notice much I learned! I doubt I would have known if I hadn't gotten a severe weather notification and then heard about it for the next 3 weeks from the town gossips- as will happen in a chatty town like this haha!

We are currently in escrow (and who knows if the whole thing will implode or work out cause I never assume everything will go perfectly) and were just going thru the fun times of looking at homeowners policies, finding out we are in a high fire zone, etc etc etc. I know about more about earthquake policies and how close I am to faultlines than I did about 12 hours ago!
