I like AMD for that reason forever Intel basically ran unopposed and did whatever they wanted, it's nice that isn't the case anymore.

Honestly they made better stuff for a long time. Not sure what they spent all that money on maybe it just cost that much. Back when I got my 860k Intel was WAAAAY ahead but too expensive for me (I had a really good job then but I paid off like $12k of debt in one year so I couldn't afford a shiny new i7 then).

I was an AMD shop for a long time because of prices, now I'm kind of a "whatever works" shop.

I'm kind of biased towards AMD because they made me some good money these past couple of years in their stock prices. But intel does make very good quality products. But when it comes down to dollar per usage. Amd has intel beat. The percentage increase from Ryzen 5 to Intel Core i5 is not worth the potential $100 price increase.

Something else that I'm sure makes me weird......I love the look of the gaming rigs where they have the clear side and it's all lit up...it's weird how shit like that sucks me in and makes me wanna spend money.

Mine did the same thing. I couldn't get her to stand or sit up to get the from below pic. Had to bribe her with a treat.
