the dark days of the year are now behind us. believe it or not, days are getting longer. regardless of our individual beliefs of this time of the year, it remains the time of quiet, rest and contentment if one has stocked grocery shelves or as in days past, a stocked basement or pantry. I remember this time of year because my neice's birthday is dec. 22, my grandmother's was dec 23 and my mother's dec 24. guess spring was the time of renewal or coming out of slumber in my northern family.
