@rsmath I thought just rolling the update back would help. It appears that my realtek and intel are both blocking any updates. My options are to delete them and then reinstall them (post update) - to get around the block. Or reinstall windows - at an earlier version.

I'm not super adept at any computer stuff. I just follow directions........So, I'm cautious about doing either of those options. I don't get why my realtek is a problem. I'm going to look around the internet more the next few days to see if I can figure it all out. Here's the list of things that cause windows not to update:

my stupid question is are you sure you are running the latest drivers for various hardware on your computer? Maybe you should update every driver and even BIOS if an update is available in case it's an older driver creating an issue that was fixed in a driver update.

I can't update the drivers (I read a reddit comment that this might be the problem). So, I went to intel - to do it directly - and had them figure out what updates I need, they downloaded and then
nothing. (Said I needed to uninstall intel and then try again).

Sigh

(And of course can't do that through my computer at all - that was all day yesterday trying)

I use AVG Driver Updater AND AVG TuneUp. Everything is automated. These can be pricy but if you look around you'll find a deal. I installed them about a year ago and I will NEVER GO BACK! It has saved me countless hours of frustration.
