What's the deal with Content Research?

I did 25 UNPAID qualifying hits on 1/16 in hopes of gaining qualification and earning $10 bonus. On 1/22 I emailed because the hits were showing up as approved but I did not get the qualification or the bonus. On 1/27 I got this email

Thanks for writing. We've been sorting out some problems with our qual HITs recently, so I'm behind on email. I'll follow up with you in the next day or so with more information, and let you know if you earned the qualification. I appreciate your understanding and patience.

And today I get this email...

I'm sorry to say that our efforts to recover the data from botched qual HITs failed, and I'm not able to evaluate your work. However, I appreciate your effort and would like to offer you the $10 bonus, even though I'm not able to offer the qualification. If you send me the HIT ID for one of the HITs you completed for us, I'll take care of that manually.

I don't think that I will bother with doing another 25 qualifying hits.
