I'm already in need of a certain organ being removed, so why not go see if it's sellable instead of having to pay for the removal? Since the organ is both healthy and non-essential

As a nurse, I would highly advise against selling any of your body parts. The is a very specific process for living donor donation and you should consult with the proper medical professionals.

I was kind of joking. But, if I were going to sell a kidney, I'm sure that the recipient who was paying that amount of money would be just as concerned about making sure the organ was viable and proper transplant procedures were adhered to. If you're going to pay thousands of dollars for something, you don't want it taken out with a rusty, grapefruit spoon in a subway men's room. Either way. Just a joke, since it's illegal, at the moment.

It's pretty grueling. My friend did it in college and got paid something like $25K but it was really rough on her physically. You have to take a lot of hormones, give yourself shots, and it can take months.

the American Society for Reproductive Medicine limits its members (medical providers) from collecting more than about $6k for eggs. if the clinic you are going to is not an ASRM member, it isn't reputable.

Came home to an email inviting me to take a follow-up to a survey I took back in November. $1.30 for 5-10 minutes, more follow ups in the future, sounded pretty good. And then when I clicked on the link, no hits were available, and I realized that I accepted that same hit a few days ago, then saw the mention of an email invitation in the instructions and assumed I'd get rejected and tossed it back. Didn't even pay attention to the fact that I mysteriously had the qual for it. I sent them an email about it but I don't even know if it's possible to undo my dumb mistake.

this happens to me all the time because mturk's email system blows and doesn't always send emails to workers when requesters think they've sent emails.
