It doesn't pop up a number next to the flag, like it used to, without me having to refresh the screen. Sometimes, I have to hover over the flag to see if someone has replied in the forum; it's not very useful, though.

But @MerryLou just mentioned that it was a donation feature. Is that true? I had no idea. It's been working for me just fine until about last week.

What @MerryLou is saying is correct. BUT, I think they were working for you before without refreshing the page because we had the tab/favicon alerts add-on enabled for everyone, which uses a request to the server. So that would also cause the regular alerts on the flag to pop up. Since we've disabled the tab/favicon alert, you're not getting a refresh on the page every 30 seconds.

That add-on still functions on this computer and half functions on my other computer, but you keep saying it's disabled.
