I took castor oil. I waited til my due date and then the next day ... went to Carvel's that night and bought a choc shake (castor oil is NOT palatable and needs a mixer lol). Mixed it in and ... voilà! in labor 8hrs later. Castor oil affects smooth muscles and causes them to contract ... the uterus is a smooth muscle (that's why it's helpful in inducing labor). No crazy poop stories here

But you're scheduled for delivery in a week ... I would wait
