Can't mturk, have to finish this alien autopsy knitting thing for my daughter's giving day (which she is supposed to help with, but hasn't). To add insult to injury, she tells me that one girl, for giving day, ordered a jacket and her handmade effort is to iron on patches (oh, the work!). My daughter tells me this as if *I* should have also spent money for this thing (I've been knitting for six hours so far).

I HATE parenting a teen.

I'm almost 39 and my mom is still teasing me about the time I asked her to not get out of the car when she picked me up from something when I was a teenager. So at least you have years of torturing her with it to look forward to.

I've never seen Star Wars, Star Trek, or Firefly

I slept through most of firefly. I’ve only seen new Star Trek movies. I’ve only seen all the Star Wars in the past two years and haven’t seen rouge one yet.


Buuuut I have a date with a cute guy to watch it this weekend. Gotta learn the lingo.

Kids What age(s) have you liked so far? 3.5 is also awful. 1 is nice but exhausting. I have to hope it gets better at some point?

I liked 2. 3 was my fault, really. I THOUGHT she got it (having survived the 2's easily, because I had no expectations - I developed LOTS of expectations. She had so much language at 3, I thought she 'got it'. She didn't). But I loved the years after that! She was so cute. And even recently, well, 13-14 was hard (but we were going through hard times). Despite that, she was pretty great.

Actually Star Wars is just as much a western as The Magnificent Seven is a western. In that both were based on Japanese samurai movies....so maybe they're really Easterns?......to reprise: Star Wars is loosely based on The Hidden Fortress by Kurosawa.
