Sooooooo my first transfer went yesterday. Today I realized I had one digit left off on my account number (like if the ending was 00011 I had 0001)

Anybody have any idea what's going to happen with that?

Like what are the chances it goes through anyhow since my name is on it and it's only 1 digit off? Or what are the chances it gets sent back to Amazon right away and the money shows back up?

Seriously though, routing and accounting numbers are a set length, so it will likely come directly back to Amazon.

I'd email both Amazon and your financial institution as well. Get proof of following up with them.

It's the weekend, so the ACH will not finalize until Monday.

Yeah, thanks. I have the support folks in an email I'm going to send tomorrow if I don't see anything on one end or the other. Guess I should reach out to the bank. Perfect day of the week (And time of year) for me to mess it up.

Wish they would've just used the same bank account numbers we had in already for the old way of doing it.

Most banks use 10-12 digits only; adding a single extra or removing a single digit invalidates the institution/classification, and will usually be rejected by the ACH process.

The numbers are very specific, so will likely be sent back to Amazon. It's likely they send --->Monday-> Get rejected--->2-3 days to bank->Christmas-->Available 26th again from Amazon.

You might get faster, depending on your institution but it usually adds a business week to the process(2-3 there, 2-3 back), in my experience.
