Bought Christmas presents on October 25th and they still aren't all wrapped yet. Guess I'll do that since it looks like a less than $30 day for me.

As you can see, the value fluctuates all the time, and if you convert after hours, it goes with the morning rate.

If you got lower than you expected, GBP probably slid in morning trading.

It converts at the amount when Paypal processes the transaction.

It's likely better to do a 3min Angela Listy hit, than stress over Paypal converting at a suboptimal time and costing you $0.25

Kinda not what i was talking about.. seems paypal is fraudulently converting to make more money. Saying the convesion rate is one thing when it is actually higher.

i think that is normal. i think ive heard banks and currency exchange centers offer rates less than that day's exchange rate so they can make some profit on the conversion. If the difference in conversion rate and the foreign transaction fee bugs you, you could stop doing prolific and do U.S. based platforms.

@rsmath I believe you were correct, they did not ship the card, the story on the phone though was that "returned - customer changed mind".

i hope its a lie they told you to make it feel not so bad that they screwed up and that they are mailing your card out with a bonus amount on it to apologize for their error.

OK so I have a question..... I do work for Prolific and they pay through Paypal in GBP... let's say today i transferred 7.45 GBP... Google says conversion rate would be $9.71 USD however Paypal say $9.44 USD.. Then they take their 1% for transfer fees.. So am I being ripped off or is there something I'm missing, cuz this is an every time thing?

I never get charged to convert from gbp to us dollars. I just got convert through PayPal and it asks me to which currency. Never a charge.
