in my general experiences with printers:

1) if it's jamming every single piece, it usually means there is a small, torn piece of paper somewhere in the paper path that is not obvious to see because it's tiny and not a third-sheet or larger of paper jammed in the paper path. If your printer has doors on the reverse side to aid in paper jam clears, you may have to open those up and see if you can spot pieces of paper that are still clogging up the paper path.

2) if it says there isn't any paper yet you have have some in the tray, it might be that you haven't closed the paper drawer all the way to envoke the paper tray closed switch.

My only advice is to not reach in there blindly sliding your fingers around. I did this once years ago trying to find the paper jam and sliced my finger wide open.
