I am having serious sad panda moments, any ideas on good healthy coping mechanisms without going to a hospital (all they do around here is treat and street).

I know it sounds so basic and clique, but I swear by exercising. Even just going for a short walk.

look at a lot of pictures of animals. i recommend reddit.com/r/aww, r/puppies, and r/rarepuppers. oh and r/dogswithjobs. also i think there is a sad panda thread in the social discussion forum
distract yourself with something fun (whatever you like doing), make a list of all the things you're grateful for in life (even small things like a good cup of coffee), pamper yourself somehow (buy something you've been wanting for a while, take a long bath), try to come up with a concrete action plan for solving whatever situation you're in. also here's a national suicide prevention chat so you can talk to a professional if you don't like talking on the phone.
Thanks I finally got to the point where tears started flowing and feel somewhat better. Best coping mechanism ever. I've talked to the professionals, they'll want me to seek counseling and around here I've done been there like 30 times.

Thanks I finally got to the point where tears started flowing and feel somewhat better. Best coping mechanism ever. I've talked to the professionals, they'll want me to seek counseling and around here I've done been there like 30 times.
I think just letting it flow really does help. It gets it out and off your chest. And you're like AHH alright I got that part out of the way.

This seems to work for my wife when she is a sad panda.


Cute gif though, and really that's what I probably need but I'm working towards complete sobriety (which could be a factor in why I'm a really sad panda over what's happening vs just a sad panda).

Do you know why? Do you have friends you can call? Can you head out and have a cup of coffee with a friend?

Think about what you have done before when you have felt like this - what helped it pass?

I totally understand. I used to take Celexa and it seemed to help better than drinking/smoking myself to death everyday. Hope you feel better. I am sure nearly everybody here feels for you and hopes you feel better soon.

if you stick with it with the right therapist, it really does help.
