I have an honest question, now I live in a part of the country that is conservative so maybe this is why I feel this way but do we live in a time where everyone is butthurt over everything? And I don't mean that in a conservative or liberal way, I mean in general.

I feel like as a country we went from "everyone has the rights and freedom to do and believe whatever they want" to "if you don't do things exactly like I want I am going to throw a fit until I get my way"

I don't know when all of this changed but it's kind of tiring to me.

That is not even remotely what I'm talking about..where I live the vast majority of the bitching is from old white dudes about immigration or ungrateful NFL players who kneel.

Why are some of these things even things that matter? In the scheme of life is anyone affected by a dude kneeling? Of course I also live in a place where I don't say shit about my beliefs to anyone. Saying I'm an atheist is basically like saying I killed someone, it's met with about the same reaction.

Also, summer vacation has started. I honestly was just trying to figure out when everything changed from "he has a right to his view or opinion" to "OMG you can't have that view so we need to make laws or rules about everything!"

And I mean that from both sides and I don't mean that there aren't important issues that need to be taken care of it just goes to extreme extents that I don't understand how we got to this place.
