good morning all! @rsmath no they weren't. We had 2 rivers and several bodies of water in our district, so I've made lotsa water rescues. Never used the seatbelt cutter in those either. Quicker to open the seatbelt than to use the cutter. @jan we called it the window punch - makes a hole in the window and then you can just get the rest of the window out (push or pull). That's one tool I used a lot.

Call 911 first. Keep us rolling. Then get out of the house. Buy big fire extinguishers. Those little ones are of no use - the little guys can't put out anything bigger than a match. Change the batteries in your smoke/fire/CO detector 2x a year (every time we have a time change) Make sure you have one in your kitchen, basement, and your bedroom. And learn the Heimlich maneuver. I have saved more lives by far using that than I have pulled people out of burning buildings (several dozen compared to 6 people pulled out of burning buildings)

I don't tailgate, I drive a good distance from others. It might happen, ofc. And someone could hit me. But my thinking was if I'm in an accident, and I'm that hurt, chances are I'll need someone else to help extract me.

Plus, sitting on Amazon and hunting for what might work - and what's just a cheap thing from China (sorry, China - might be cheap-o from some other country, too) - it's hard to sift through the detritus.
