I am currently reading Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail, does this count as Political History? (I'm half kidding, it's not really a history book at all)

edit: and literally a moment after writing this, I read a section of it that had me clutching my pearls, which is hard to do! Racy stuff!

I never read it, but I remember when it came out: it was a BIG deal at the time. Is it a good read?

If you like Hunter S Thompson's style of writing, yes. If you don't, then absolutely not. It's crazy and all over the place, really offensive, talks about drugs a lot and about politics in a very frank way. I can just imagine how aghast people were when this first was published!

I think we'll sometimes look the other way if it's just a random question without any context, but the fact that it's an attention check kinda alerts people that might have attempted to blow through without paying attention (which defeats the purpose of the attention check, I think.)
