On Monday/Tuesday I'll be releasing a blog post on TV touching on updating our wage guidelines. This is almost entirely aimed at requesters, but since it obviously affects workers I'm linking here for feedback/comment before tossing it into the world:

https://blog.turkerview.com/p/011a6f05-b6ac-4228-872e-c9a1e43b3796/

TV hasn't updated its wage guidelines in 2+ years, which is crappy, so taking the plunge and hopefully making the names (fair, generous, etc) actually reflect what would really be generous instead of just treating the bare minimum crap wage as "fair"

This wont affect your script(s), in fact when MTS is updated you'll be able to select what wage ranges make sense for you, but it will affect what the outside world sees TV as recommending for pay. A good # of researchers do come to us to figure out what they should be paying, so it's on TV to be relaying information that actually benefits workers. Hopefully this will be a step in that direction.
Hourly pay makes sense if you have multiple hours of work. Since almost every survey is less than an hour it is a pointless metric. It is wrong that requester's can think they are paying minimum wage when the majority of workers here will spend massive amounts of unpaid time searching for hits. Even at 10 dollars an hour an 8 hour day would pay 80 dollars. How many people here are actually making at least 80 dollars in an 8 hour day? Switch it to pay per minute for surveys.

Not 100% sure I understand where you'd be proposing changing this.. on the post or TV itself? :o

I don't use TV so I'm not really sure what or how a change could be implemented. I am generally opposed to a requester, specifically an academic researcher conducting a survey, thinking they are paying well, or thinking they are paying above minimum wage, when most people on here full time are making less than 400 per week. If a survey pays $2.00 for 10 minutes it is absolutely NOT paying $12.00 per hour because before the survey starts and after it ends will usually be unpaid time. You can use your website/blog/extension as you see fit but I would prefer there not be feedback given to the requester that they are giving us an hourly wage when they are not.

I feel like a corona hipster since I've known everything in January that people are just finding out about now.
It's like one of those movies were a meteor is coming to destroy the earth, only everyone just laughs at it and makes meteor memes until 5 minutes before it hits.

I can't count the number of times someone's posted that in the past 24 hours thinking they're ahead of the curve. Or "Rudy Gobert shut down the whole league, defensive player of the year durr".
