PE: $1.22
Bonus: $.05 for doing quality work.
I hope this cheers some people up, I just have to figure out a way to spend my $1.27. And for those struggling keep at it, get rest though first no matter what.
That's almost enough to get you one of those cheap 8% alcohol gas station beers I'm drinking now!

You can buy a few bricks of ramen noodles! Or a 30 pack of Hamm's.

How is it to start? I have been trying to encourage my brother to start but I'm scared he won't find it worth it because of lack of qualifications/completed HITs/etc.

Have you been having a difficult time getting up and going?
1,300 hits, 5 rejects, $678. Getting some of the scripts helped a lot. I still do mostly surveys. I've seen polls where more experienced users prefer batch work. Still a little of a mystery to me since I rarely see batches that look worthwhile. Perhaps just not qualified yet. Anyway, I'm sticking with it partly because the PEs posted here give me some hope that it's worthwhile.

Damn, sounds like you've been hard at it! I don't think my brother is willing to put in the effort you have haha

For what it's worth, after a few years of doing this at nights mainly, I also do mostly surveys because that seems all that's available at night. I'm sure others' experience with that may vary, and I did do a few batches during the day when I was off work or whatever, but surveys have treated me pretty well.

Besides nights like tonight. I can't find shit. Fuck tonight.

Keep at it, even if it might look small this all take time to master. I wasn't making a lot my first year because I didn't know anything about quals or how to work effeciently and just took what I got. Over time I got alot better at what I wanted and comfortable what I'm ok and not ok working with. I'm not much of a batch person, but if I enjoy it I'll do it as a small filler to make that last few bucks. It's about what you want and how much you're willing to find out what works for you.

Haha, thanks! I've been at this four years now I think, I've got a pretty good grip at what's going on.. just only recently found this forum.

I was asking that question for my brother because I've been encouraging him to start, but I honestly don't remember how slow it was when I started.

I hope this cheers some people up, I just have to figure out a way to spend my $1.27. And for those struggling keep at it, get rest though first no matter what.
For $1.27, I can get you a classy ass hat in TF2 to flex on all the free to play kids

I think you should buy something high in calories, like a chocolate-covered donut. That'll show 'em!

Ya pass that along to him, hopefully he'll feel a bit more confident about it. When I started a year ago it was going good, but then winter hit and it wasn't the same for me and that was before I knew much about working in general...so I can totally related to some of the discouragement as I had to deal with it initially as well.

I'm in the minority, but the way people use to post on this forum years ago made me a bit cynical about why they're posted. I also find it really demotivating when I'm on a bad streak, just makes me feel worse for not being good enough. But obviously other people feel the opposite
Someday people will figure out that CJ's just a troll and I have oppositional defiant disorder. :ghost:

I got my Amazon gift card order together finally. I started it last week and then things started popping on mturk and I never got back to it. I totally ran out of coffee . . . I had to drink the emergency instant this morning, ugh, so I rewarded myself by getting the kind I really like. I committed to a craft fair at the end of the month and I needed to order some stuff for that to make certain it arrives on time. I had quite a bit plus that $5 from the Amazon Assistant promotion so I shopped the warehouse and got a flannel sheet set, a mattress topper and two new pillows at really good prices. Aside from toilet paper, it's all fun stuff!

I'll definitely pass it on to him, thanks! I'm worried he just won't feel it's worth it at first (I guess it really isn't at first but it is an investment)
