get up at 5am don't leave your computer. lay in bed while doing the most mind numbing vaccination hit over and over until you fall asleep. rinse and repeat. a lot of it is hard work. a lot of it is masochism. mix in some desperation and being an addict. must hate yourself.

edit: it's not really all that bad. I actually kind of love turking, and the work, so it works out. Some days are better than others though, and it really is a grind.

nah. i work remote. most of my job is spent monitoring data center things so i always have that up on one monitor and turk on another. some days, like today, my team and i get slammed with server work and we don't hardly even have time to talk to each other.

sorta. we don't actually have a NOC though we're trying to put one in place early next year. I do application operations so while it's similar in a lot of cases to what a NOC would be responsible for, we're also writing code for system-wide software deployments, building out servers, moving databases and such. we're trying to separate out a lot of the monitoring duties because our team is pretty small (18) and we're responsible for maintaining a dozen different products and over 30K databases. luckily it's not as bad as it seems. most days are pretty quiet.
