Note to buyers: If you send me an offer on Ebay for less than half of the item price I will always counter offer you $1 million dollars.

I order it off Amazon, but you can get citric acid in any grocery that carries canning stuff (cheaper online though!)

It burns if you have any kind of scalp issues. Also most people who do the "noo-poo" thing use apple cider vinegar mixed with water, but I didn't like that so I do the citric acid thing and it works for me.
I think a lot of it has to do with the kind of water you have (we had hard water in FL and the no poo thing was pretty ugly)

Oh, right, I've heard of the no-poo thing. Have tried, in the past, with hideous results. It's cool that that works for you :)

So very much this.

lol it just dawned on me - I've pretty much always lived in places with hard water. Seattle's is not; maybe that's why my hair is so mad. *takes notes*

Our water is hard as well, but I think that might be why citric acid works better for me?

It took close to 2 years to get it to be not a nightmare, and another two or three to get to a good routine where it's never an issue anymore. At the beginning I had a shaved head so it was much easier to transition into.

I was away from the computer and came back to the tail end of the no-poo conversation, which left me a little worried about the state of everyone's bowels. It took me a few minutes to realize exactly what it meant.

1) I do the no-poo, but I do "cleanse" with conditioner (water soluble conditioner - Suave Naturals). I actually do the Curly Girl method since my hair is curly. I use all water soluble products in my hair. It's been a DREAM for me once I figured out the best products to keep my hair from frizzing. It is so much easier to take care of my hair now and it looks pretty decent about 85% of the time (weather and wind can affect that). I just ordered a silk pillow case in hopes that I can wake up with even better hair and not have to sleep with a t-shirt on my head if I want to wake up with decent hair that I don't have to wet down in the morning (It's cold in the morning in the winter with a wet head!)

2) This week has SUCKED for me turk wise, and health wise. I have a virus that makes me feel like I have food poisoning, minus the fever. Awesome. This has made taking my kid to and from school a bit of a challenge as I'm on the road nearly two hours per day doing that, so I kind of stopped eating to prevent issues. Not eating is really not that great for you. I'm gently eating applesauce and baby food to not feel like passing out from hunger and to avoid those horrible hunger pains that show up when a body doesn't eat!

Turk wise I just have not earned much. Probably because I feel like crud. :(

Thank goodness this upcoming weekend is a three day weekend for me, however Monday is spent taking the kiddo around to medical appointments. He actually starts the process of getting his braces off on Monday, so he is SUPER STOKED. (I will have those damn things paid off in December, so I am SUPER STOKED about that!)

Thank you!!

Mostly he is looking forward to not having to wear rubber bands anymore. I have never seen a rubber band set up like this on braces. All in triangles, two bands share a bracket, means one rubber band likes to pop off all the time and it's driving him crazy. He has his fingers in his mouth more than he did when he was a baby, lol.

I'm surprised he doesn't have a tummy virus like I do, lol.
