if this isn't your first rejection (and thus you are still able to accept the 100% approved hits), it's pretty meaningless. you could send him the reverse rejection instructions http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSMechTurk/latest/RequesterUI/ReversingRejectedAssignment.html and hope he figures it out and spend as much time over that hassle, or you could just take the money now and call it a day.
plus if you take the gift card, then it won't show up on your mturk account and nobody will know it exists, thus you won't have to pay taxes on it

Also, a lot of previous work we did here for them is being handled on an app they created for Google users to complete in exchange for Google Play points/rewards instead.
