Don't you love it when you are having problems with your internet, so you call a technician and they come and the internet is working perfectly and they look at you like you are crazy.

I have a theory that companies pulse signal and as soon as you call to complain it fixes it for a short time and then starts back up again.

I just got a reply from Chris Calhoun about them using blocks as quals:

Me: Good day,

I just caught one of your HITs and am excited to get started on it. I have a quick question: I noticed on your Turkopticon reviews that you have been issuing blocks to worker accounts to prevent retakes. This is worrying, since account blocks can prevent one from reaching Master status and possibly result in having our accounts suspended. Is it still your policy to use blocks instead of qualifications? I really want to do your HIT, but I am trying to protect my account as well.

Thank you for expressing your concerns. Our policy was to temporarily block workers until the end of our data collection. However, after receiving emails from workers expressing their concerns with our policy, we have since decided to use qualifications instead to prevent repeated work. There used to be a paragraph in our instructions stating this would happen but on the HIT I publish this morning I removed the paragraph and the workers that accept our HITS will not be blocked. I hope this helps!

I worked overnight at this truckstop-like restaurant when i was 19 and I guess really naive or a moron or both, these girls came in one night, a lot of make up, with some guys, the guys were counting big stacks of dollar bills. I told one of the guys, i guess they work for tips too, huh? He just gave me this wierd look, and said...yeah...
I finally realized they were strippers.
