So an Amazon "account specialist" finally got back to me with a canned message about opening a new account with my same email so my account is either still on hold or closed.

These account specialists are apparently the only ones who can place or remove a hold on an account but they are nearly impossible to get in contact with. They have no phone number. It seems like you have to go through regular customer service reps and have them forward your request to an account specialist and hope to be contacted by one of those "within 48 hours." The regular reps don't seem to know what mTurk is so I can't really explain why getting my same account back instead of making a new one is so important.

If anyone has any advice or experience contacting account specialists PLEASE let me know. Feel free to PM me. Ughhhh.
Have you tried to email your situation to jeff@amazon.com? When my account was suspended because the account specialists couldn't verify my identity (after turking for years and sending ID and crap), emailing "jeff" worked for me.

I would help but if I don't feel like going through that headache again, s I would recommend bothering Tribune until he answers. He somehow knows every last person employed at Amazon.

I did actually try that this morning, about 4-5 hours ago. How long did it take for you to get a response after that? I figured I would give that a day before trying something else. I'm pretty much willing to call or email somebody every day until I get some kind of definitive answer.

First time I emailed jeff I got an answer within 3 days saying they really couldn't verify me (I had already talked to amazon payments multiple times at this point), so I continued calling every single day to payments (sometimes multiple times per day) for I think nearly three weeks before I emailed jeff again. I never got an email back but within 2-3 days of sending the second email to jeff my account was reinstated.
