I don't miss FL at all. It is a bit cold up here, and there are times I wish it wasn't so cold (well, that or I had the money to hire a plow guy. I'm not enjoying shoveling as much as I thought......).
But I don't miss FL. I'm happy here

Used to live in Anchorage, Alaska. 2F is about 8 degrees colder than it typically gets up there during the winter. Well, I hope you have a well-insulated place, a good or great heating system, and maybe an electric blanket!

I saw a great "snow plow" that takes the place of a shovel, and people were saying it was great. I think a video of it was posted here in the last few days.

I have oil and a wood stove for back up (I'd like a bigger one, actually, since wood is cheaper than oil). But you kind of adjust. I keep the house at about 55 degrees and it seems okay. Next year I'll buy more wood (and earlier) so that we can use the stove more often.
