So I signed up 6 days ago and have made 1.86 and some of the task that are listed for a newby are way to time consuming for the little they want to pay am I looking at this from the wrong angle or am I just looking in it to far will it get better? And is it even possible to make money this way???

There's definitely a lot of trash to sift through. If you're not already using it, I would recommend checking out TurkerView. Seeing requesters' hourly wages and rejection reports and such can be very helpful when it comes to finding your way.
