now belongs to a different-and-disappointing extension called Visualping.
" I hate to say it, but this appears to be a total sellout by the original developer. Visualping.io obviously wanted the numbers this extension had, so they made an offer to the developer, and there you go, instant base of 300k users. "
" Used to have Page Monitor and it auto-updated to this bullshit. Worst extension ever. Merry Christmas! "
" This is a massive sellout by the developer. Beware that the new company, with CEO Serge Salager, "Inbound Retargeting and WebMonitoring Technologies Icc." is supposed tracking and selling user's data to advertisers.
Revert back to the original and simpler version now. Download the original and better Page Monitor (Plus) without tracking from here[1]. Make sure that your Page Monitor version is not higher than 3.4.2 and less than 180KB in size. All the best!

" What happened? Was working before now it's broken. WTF?
Was able to go back to old version found here
http://www.crx4chrome.com/crx/1257/ but chrome updated itself. Trying to disable extension updates now. Info here:

" I would be wary to Visualping since they seems to be an advertising company now. To prevent auto-updating in the future, install the original version I have uploaded at

Note that installing 3.4.3 will leading to tracking code installed by Visualping. Install version 3.4.2 or less with size smaller than 180KB to get the original version back! "
" I have used this app every single day for the past several years. This update? This was not an update. This was a slap in the face. I lost all of my settings that checked specific pages for very specific changes in very specific areas at specific intervals. Where are my carefully crafted regular expressions? Where are my css identifiers? What on earth do you think you're doing?!
This app is ruined for me. Absolutely ruined. Not only that, but it crashed my browser by opening every page I had a watch on that it thought had changes. That was due to you making it check all of those pages EVERY MINUTE! Only a few had updated the way I had set it up to look for. The rest? They had changes that the old system ignored.
When you make a new app like this, upload it as a new app with an upgrade to the old app that ASKS people if they want to TRY the new version, with an OPTION to COPY their settings from the old app. YOU DON'T BREAK IMPORTANT FUNCTIONALITY FOR YOUR USERS! YOU DON'T LOSE OUR SETTINGS! You don't treat people this way to make a buck on your new app. This is how you alienate your customers. This is how you lose us. Worst marketing ever. Undo what you did, and maybe you won't lose too many. "
, Google doesn't give users an easy way to prevent extensions' auto-updates, you have to modify the extension's files.
