Any health nuts or trying to be healthy nuts out there? I love to talk about healthy food and supplements and work outs and all of that stuff but I don't have enough IRL people to talk about it with. Also, I just stopped doing Krav Maga. So sad but I couldn't make the schedule work out. Anyway, so I started at Planet Fitness today for a place to go. So I don't really talk to people there obviously. Krav required a lot of people talk, teamwork.

I've been trying to be more healthy starting late last year. I lost about 30 pounds before the holidays using a low carbs/low sugar diet. Whatever you want to call that.

I'm trying to get back to that now. I've also been trying to limit my drinking, which isn't going very well at the moment.

30 lbs is a lot! That's amazing!
I was hoping to go workout this morning but instead I was sick :( So oh well. Fitbit says I have a little over 1700 steps so far.

Oh I like this thread. Some of this is in the Intermittent fasting thread. I'm always vaguely healthy lol. I average 17,000 steps a day on fit bit. However, I do have 20-30 lbs I should drop. I have been trying to follow the low carb/sugar diet for the past two weeks, however, I got really sick in between so there were some slip ups. I am also trying to limit my drinking, but like mboone73 @mboone73 struggling. Since NYD I've only drank last Saturday night. I had ONE honey whiskey Wednesday, but I was coughing up a storm and hoped it would help - it did. This is way back from my 1-2 drinks a day and lots of drinks on a Friday and maybe Saturday. I've lost 6lbs - yay low carb and water weight. I'm always down to talk about it or recipes. I'm pretty much eating cheese, eggs and veggies at this point. I just order some coconut flour, quest cinnamon protein and swerve sugar replacement. If I want to maintain I will need some stuff to hit that sweet tooth I do get.

My workouts are usually working on the farm, riding horses and line dancing. I used to love hitting the gym but I don't have much time for that.

Oh my gosh so many things I love to talk about savvy! Ok first how in the world do you get in all those steps? Are you going for walks/runs or is that at the farm and with the dancing? WOW. I got 20,000 something when I moved my Dad and I really thought my feet and legs were going to just fall off. I normally don't drink but I just bought a bottle of SoCo to make hot toddies with and that is helping me big time at night to get over this chest congestion. It's so hard to get rid of but I think that and the oil of oregano is really helping the most. I am really interested in what you're going to do with the coconut flour. I have been making some fat bombs with peanut butter, shredded coconut, cocoa powder and molasses but I've never used coconut flour. I think I have a bunch of Indian recipes for it though in a cookbook.
The quest bars are way too sweet for me but I've tried them.
I actually am losing my sweet tooth I mostly don't have one anymore but when I do it's like for a day so strong. My favorite thing to satisfy it is Lovely brand caramels. drooool
You've cut down so much, lost so much...I think you're doing awesome. Goooooo savvy. Gooooooo mboone!

I will preface with I ate hooters last night, including french fries and fried pickles. I had two rum and cokes while playing cards. but I'm not sweating it! ( i tend to get eating disorder-y when I'm too strict) however, my brain is getting better about acknowledging when it is worthwhile to bust and when it isn't. I'm not about losing 30lbs in a few months. If I can do it over the next 12-18months, I'l be happy longterm.

I'm on the farm before and after work, and try to go for a walk or practice line dancing at lunch. Then I line dance 2-3 days a week and walk the dog or hike. I just always try to keep moving. Stagnation is bad.

i saw a couple of fat bomb recipes with the coconut flour. idk, I'll figure it out lol. I'm messing with that tomorrow!

I don't love quest bars but I put a few in my backpack in case of emergencies. I saw a really good recipe for pancakes with the quest cinnamon protein powder.

I will share recipes as I figure them out!

So this weekend I made cheddar biscuits with coconut flour. Next time I am going to make them with Old Bay and they will be cheddar bay biscuits from red lobster lol. The man friend even approved. They were pretty satisfying, we had them with steak and broccoli.

I like kodiak cakes but I think they're still REALLY carb-y. i think like 30g per serving? with the quest powder it would be like 3g-5g of carbs.

Finally found the easiest no-mato sauce recipe ever. I'm going to try it today. Good if you're avoiding nightshades or your on Feingold like we are sort of kind of trying to do.

I might try that one day. I have an auto immune thing but can’t bring myself to eat a limited diet long term especially if it eliminates tomatoes

I have been eating healthy cuz I’m dying

I officially have to buy a new fancy belt, which is a proud yet stressful moment. The belt I wear is perfect, but because of the embellishments I cannot adjust down anymore. It was a $60 belt. Have to invest in a new one. (super pimped out western girl belt lol).

SO I guess this has been going well.

I went back to healthy eating this week, not quite keto but super low carb, avoiding carbs in general. I failed at meal prepping due to no time and no money, but have been eating veggies and eggs.

Today I managed to fast for the first time in almost two weeks, made it 18 hours. Need to work on my hydration, as my fast was difficult.

I boxed up all my fat clothes right before the nasty weather hit and now I'm pulling them all back out! Some things are hard about being healthy and that's the time and the clothes expense really! People try to turn that around to a positive all the time but for me that was actually a big concern - having to box up clothes because it takes me a long time to accumulate clothes! $$$$$
I don't do any fasting - I did the Beachbody 3 day refresh (I'm not a coach anymore) last year or maybe the year before and I felt like my brain was jelly. It was a good test of my will power but I mean like I couldn't drive or do any thinking. I think in a daily thread we were talking about dry mouth - I get a lot of good hydration out of the occasional coconut water. Keep up the good work savvylabell!

oh god I can't do the refresh. I do intermittent fasting and the first one always sucks, but I'm actually a lot more clear-headed when I eat less often. The most energy I ever had was upon completing a 24 hour fast. Your body works more optimally when it isn't processing food constantly, and once you train your blood sugar not to spike constantly and the ghrelin levels aren't triggered so much, eating less often is soooo less stressful. I have la croix and stuff I just had a weird morning of not wanting to drink. especially the colder it gets!

maybe try cutting th carbs for a week or two. It's hard but it shows results wise.

Ugh this weekend was a shitshow diet wise. I've been on predinose which makes me very carb hungry, and I also had to eat breakfast, which is the easiest place for me to eliminate calorie intake. This morning was the last bit of the daily meds I have to take, so I can get on better track tomorrow. I'll skip lunch today, just eating some fruit for lunch.

It was a birthday weekend for people, so despite not drinking I still ate mexican and pizza and cupcakes and blah. So I feel incredibly bloated like I cannot move. Beached whale.

Hopefully by tomorrow I will feel a little less gross. Get on track.

I also have an urge to run but the weather isn't allowing that.

Lost 10 pounds :). On the annoying front....no compliments. I sort of always look pretty thin - so no one says - wow, you look great!). But, I feel better and I'm almost at my low weight (5 more pounds).

I lost it all about 10 years ago and kept it all off for - about 8 years. Then with the move and all kinds of changes - I just let it bounce back up. In fact, I thought I'd look better with a few more pounds (that was a mistake).

Also, just emailed a local CSA that has a food/work trade. My 16 year old said she'd come with me......we'll see. My hope is that it will also teach me a bit about veggie gardening - plus they said they do bulk sales (so I can do some canning).
