Approval time for MTurk worker for 2018?

Hi, All. I just heard about MTurk yesterday, did some research and registered for a "worker" account using my amazon.com login this morning.

I am seeing that a majority of comments online state that it can take months to get approved, but many of the comments date back 2 or more years. I also see they have to confirm you SSN, which they did not even ask for during registration. My questions are this...

How long does the process take to get approved from the time you register for a new "worker" account?

Will they ask for my SSN at a different stage of the registration process?

There isn't an accurate time frame we can give you. It could be anywhere from 1 day to 3 years. Invitations are only extended on an as needed basis. Your SSN will only be required once you are extended an invitation and are asked to create an Amazon Payments account.

3 days for me. Just finished the 10 day probation.
