My great grandfather was there, but my grandfather was a miner in a reserved profession. Every time he tried to sign up to fight in WWII, then sent him home to mine. My other grandfather was Irish and in a truly neutral country style, came over to Britain to work as a carpenter throughout the war. WWI is my dad's passion, WWII is hubby's.

Mining was important to the war effort, as important as serving on the front line. ... Ask your hub if he's ever read "Why the Allies Won" by Overy. Outstanding book.

Well, umm, worse, but still not particularly dangerous.

Mostly both of them just eat other bugs, but the short-legged ones have a nasty bite. Never even ehard of anyone bitten by a silverfish/house scorpion (scary name but they're harmless).

Welp, get your vacuum cleaner ready and roll over the couch.

idk man, silverfish are pretty bad. the last one I saw I sprayed with bleachwater because it was too high for me to reach and it fell behind a piece of furniture too big for me to move so I assumed it was dead. NEWSFLASH it wasn't. It came back to get me by crawling up my leg and I know it was him because he smelled like bleach.

So, basically, on some minor level, you had a kind of relationship with a bug and you have stories now.

oh no, he definitely 100% died during the second encounter. I couldn't let the vengeful little jerk get away a second time. He might come back even stronger the third time.
