They just took out the self checkout at my grocery store and put in a display there. I'M SO CONFUSED AND/OR IRRITATED.

I HATE those self-check-out things. I want to deal with a person - I can always have some fun by getting some kind of conversation going.

Well I do this full-time and I've been doing it for well over a year now.

I HATE those self-check-out things. I want to deal with a person - I can always have some fun by getting some kind of conversation going.

I just wanna do my purchase and get out, I don't want to have a conversation so the self-checkouts are a godsend to me. Plus, I usually have to do two or more purchases as well (my stuff, fiance's stuff, this card that card whatnot.) and it (almost) physically hurts to have to say that out loud to a real person who is like, lookin' at me and then the person behind me makes exasperated noises and that makes me nervous and then I mess everything up and drop things.

I'm not good with real life people.

... I understand your angst about using multiple cards at check-out with a real person. We're just built differently, that's all.

Not only did she send me a nice email asking me to answer the question which I did, she also gave me a bonus (it was only a penny but most requesters would just reject your hit). So if you all accept her hit, be sure to answer her second question . I'll link to her hit below for those who have not taken it (Although, you do have to have more than 10K hits accepted).
