I feel like if you do it professionally you've moved out of the realm of "handyman" so that survey seems a little contradictory.

To me a handyman is someone who can do small, or simple jobs in a few different areas, like basic plumbing, basic electrics etc. I remember my mum had a guy she called the 'odd-job man'. He did a reasonable job, but you'd not call him for anything complicated.
