Normally I would, but I had less than 24 hours notice and it was a mouth swab anyway. Smoked 3 hours before the interview so they obviously don't give a shit about weed in a lot CO drug tests and goddamn right they shouldn't, too

Same applies. They retain you, they have to pay you more and give you a discount, etc. Walmart's ideal scenario is everyone either fails that test or quits after 3 months.

it's still ridiculous. Walmart has a strange sense of what is ethical. I have worked at the same company (office job) for 14 years. Never had to pass a stupid test to retain my job. I have gotten a bunch of raises. I make $6 more an hour than when I started. Granted after 14 years, you would think it would be a whole lot more.

it's still ridiculous. Walmart has a strange sense of what is ethical. I have worked at the same company (office job) for 14 years. Never had to pass a stupid test to retain my job. Walmart actively knows it isn't ethical. It's totally fine with it. In some cases it goes out of its way to not be ethical, because the bottom line is king. Your office job pays you well and treats you well because they obviously need you to do what you're doing well - Walmart doesn't need the best customer service or shortest lines or cleanest stores because it's that much cheaper than even the next cheapest store. I agree with you, and it's bullshit, but it's not surprising in the least.
