Well that sucks.. especially because it happens when you're downloading what is essentially a windows skin.

Classic shell is pretty much required for Windows 8+ use.. .

Or rather something like it..

I use start is back personally but classic shell is nearly as good but free.

The best way to use Windows 8 and beyond is to DL Windows 7.

Nah windows 8/10 are much better OSes then 7.

The issue is the metro and modern shit mostly and start8 from stardock I think it is called or start is back both solve the issue.

Now Windows is actually [mod edit] with the up coming update removing features from pro users.. so I will just go jump ship fully to linux most likely.

10 was really shitty when i first installed it, but i don't have any problems with it now

My biggest problem with 10 is it made my recycling bin square. I know this is just about the easiest thing in the world to fix, but I leave it there to remind me how angry I am that my computer upgraded to 10 on it's own after I had told it 50 times to get rekt.

I haven't opened my recycling bin from an icon in most likely 4 years.

From what I read Classic Shell is safe when DLed from the developer. It was one third party site that was hacked.

i don't care about the start menu too much, i actually like 10's start menu.. unless start8 offers something besides that?
i had a problem where whenever i had two browser windows (not tabs) open, they would get a glitchy black screen or black squares on it. sometimes happened with other apps too
tried all the solutions i could find and i couldn't fix it until i eventually installed a newer graphics card and the problem disappeared
