It would be abnormal to hire on the spot ("on the spot" = during or immediately after an interview, I presume). They call--if they are going to--over the course of "the next few days." But no matter how good a feeling you get about how well an interview has gone and how shockingly impressed an interviewer may seem to be with you, never assume you've gotten the position until they've actually made an offer.

I wouldn't sweat it. It all depends on what the hiring needs are for the store at the time. I applied right before the holidays so that might have been it. It's summer time and they are going to be hiring a ton of seasonal workers so your chances are good. I strongly suggest asking to be put into electronics if you can.
