Owning is awesome. I mean you're stuck with all the repairs and all, but you also get to do whatever you want (within city codes, of course) without asking permission

Yeah, even renting houses was better than living in an apartment with neighbors basically up my butt like I am right now, so I'm pretty excited for that. We were going back and forth with the sellers for days because there is a lot of fuckery with the house (land lines are unclear and he likely owns slightly less property than he thinks, missing permits, the owner thinking the house was worth more than it is and having to hear the hard truth lol) and we finally got the owner to see some sense (whew).

I'm still not sure something won't go tits up during escrow and all the various inspections/the bank valuation, but it's at least a huge step forward.

I was so cool and collected until I saw the amount of the down payment yesterday, and I always knew that's how high it would be and we are prepared- annnnd I still started dry heaving and my agents offered to sedate me cause I looked terrible

The entire basement is a finished workshop. huzzah! Matt will finally have a whole space to tinker again since we moved to the West Coast. My dining room is currently occupied with a dirt bike and a motorcycle and a hang glider. I will be happy when those things aren't all up in my space
