Quite the experience at Wal-mart yesterday. I needed cash (quite a bit) and you can only get a maximum of $100 cash with each purchase. I went to the self-serve checkout. Ring up an item, get $100, rinse repeat, rinse repeat . . . The Wal-mart ladies were all mad because I was slowing the check-out and taking money out the machines and made me go from register to register. The receipt checker at the door was very suspicious until I explained to him why I had 10 receipts . . .

I won't pay ATM fees and I was trying to avoid having to go way out of my way to the bank but it was a fairly humiliating experience . . .

So I thought I needed new glasses. But instead, I have Post-Cataract Opacity. Which needs laser treatment to clear it. Dr said left eye was so cloudy he couldn't see the back.

He asked how I'd gotten cataracts at 40. I said. Caught measles at 4. They screwed my already weak muscles and my eyesight went from a squint to a squint with extreme myopia. At 30 I had detached retinas, which have a side effect of cataracts. Then because my immune system is still great as I'm relatively young in comparison to most cataract patients, it deposits a pile of proteins on the back of the eye, making me need laser treatment.

Oh, I'll use you as an example when I ever speak to people who say measles isn't harmful.

EDiTED TO ADD that this is great news for my cloudy vision as it's 100% easily correctable and I will be able to see very well afterwards. I'm actually pretty pleased. Well apart from having to wait 8 weeks and then some to get both eyes done .
