We only turn ours off from 3-6PM on weekdays and that's only because those are "summer peak hours" for our electric company. The power is much more expensive at that time, but it saves us so much money in the long run that it's worth it.
It would be so hot in here if I did that..that's the hottest time of the day.

Yeah, it's not ideal, but I lower the thermostat from about 1-3 then shut it off and the house stays cool until about 5:45 when I'm ready to turn it back on. It's not so bad, just don't go upstairs. :onfire:

What's weird is if you read my power companies statements they don't list any kind of peak hours they list peak months and it says something like "The first 7 months will be peak months when the last 5 being non peak months" and it's like uhh wtf does that mean?

I'm actually sitting on my couch under a blanket. All I have on is the ceiling fan and it's freezing me out.
But I always have a blanket on me inside.
What is the air set to you at your house during the day?
Or are you just cold all the time? (my mom is like that)

It's set on 73 right now. I never touch it. That way if the bill is high my husband can't blame me. He's the thermostat adjuster.

but yeah I'm always cold

haha. Very interesting.
It's a choice they give you when you move into their service area. You can choose if you want to work around peak hours and pay less for power in general, or just have nothing to do with it and pay a flat fee for power no matter what time it is. I save around $30 a month working with the hours, so it's worth it.

My kids do that my AC is on 73 I have fans blowing everywhere and they are covered in blankets, meanwhile I'm sweating everywhere with swamp ass.

Some years ago I was told by a doctor that because my actual resting body temperature is 96.8 that means what feels comfortable in the summer to most people like say 85 will make me really hot and anything above that will make me feel like it's insane..and well he was right. And on top of that I don't get cold easily..I can go outside in 15 degree weather in a sweatshirt and be fine.

I'd be needing a blanket as well. We put it on 73 at night when I put our daughter to bed and 75 or 76 during the day. I find it so interesting what people keep their their thermostats set to. My brother is insane and keeps it at 69 or 70. I was like

This is definitely a thing and I think my husband has something like it. The dude radiates heat constantly. I follow him around for heat during winter and joke that's the only reason I keep him around. :p
