seriously though, aetna did do this at sign up time last fall. no real drugs, but i did get a package with facemasks which i through away, don't trust anything from the unmentionable, and the sunscreen, there's enough of that in the products i use and the hand sanitizer - literally eats my skin off so i won't give it away either. but i did keep the toothpaste, dental floss, which i have no idea where it is and the wound cleaner - lots of cat scratches.

I got that big purple box from them too - my favorite thing was the Wellsy bandaids - I switched to Humana who then sent me a much skimpier package which included a huge bottle of acetaminophen which was later recalled because it lacked the dosage information (and I don't take it).

Yes, I think i have the bandaids somewhere also. it was a surprise when it came and fun to open but i always wonder what the motive is. there always has to be a motive though in this case most likely advertising.

Since they sent it before the signup process even started I'm certain it was to encourage us to re-up with them. I wasn't happy with their performance during COVID and I really didn't like the changes to the plan for this year - I'm certain they had a tough time given that Humana, among others, has a pay-back on some plans and what looks to me to be better plans.
