i think its sad SCIENCE channel has been taken over by a lot of that junk too and no longer features many good true science shows anymore.
I've always felt that Pawn Stars was the beginning of the end for those channels. The early Pawn Stars was actually read good, and focused on the history bits. Then it just led into being your typical comedy show full of poking fun at someone's age and/or weight.

@Metallica for the tag! There is a lot of good material on YT if one uses good search terms. But I must add that books are the thing for a *real* understanding of history. (One of my favorites on WWII is "Why the Allies Won" by Richard Overy.)
