The first payments will go out April 13, the IRS told CNET. CNET readers and a commenter on Reddit said they've received notification from their banks that their stimulus money will post to their accounts April 15. According to Fox News, those who filed taxes in 2018 or 2019 and set up direct deposit with the IRS will receive their refunds by April 15, including those who've set up direct deposit on prepaid cards.

People I know have already seen it pending in their accounts. My husband keeps asking. I told him to hold on and wait LOL

I owe taxes every year...I have it set up to where they take the money out of my bank at a certain date...is it safe to assume they will send the stimulus through that? Every update talks about "the bank account set up for direct deposit." What about the bank set up for direct makin me poor

So I'm super confused about what I need to do. I filed taxes for 2019 and got it on H&R Block's Emerald card. Do I need to update my direct deposit stuff through the app even though I filed?

i think you should be fine as the irs sends the check or direct deposit to the taxpayer, but you may be waiting awhile if the irs doesn't have your bank info. i don't know how your refund works with regards to your prepaid card -- i.e. if you get the refund from the irs and pay H&R Block back or if Block gets your refund to apply towards your card.

My understanding is because they have your bank account info, the money should be direct deposit. Me on the other hand, always pays by check & card, so I'm going to wait. There is another system coming in the next week or so that should allow people to put their bank information in. I'm probably not doing that as it seems high target for hacking and identity fraud. I'll just wait for my check in the po box.

I have no clue which way it works tbh. I was hoping I didn't have to wait for the check but it looks like I might. boooo

I am lucky to not need it - yet. I am putting it to savings mostly. I could still be furloughed. I wasn't even expecting it, but someone posted on fb to look and i did and was surprised to see it there.
