I think I just found the answer to that.. but dunno how much to trust the source..
Tax Refund Seizure, Collections, and Wage Garnishment is On Hold
In addition to helping borrowers get out of default for the future, this coronavirus stimulus bill pauses collections efforts on federal student loans.

It also stops collections, wage garnishment, and seizure of tax refunds retroactive to March 5, 2020.

That’s also big news for borrowers struggling the most.

If you had your tax refund seized on or after March 5, 2020, you need to make sure your address is current in the Department of Education system. Call 800-621-3115 to make sure they mail your check to the right address.

But this is an interesting read for those who are trying to get loan forgiveness and/or making auto payments

Defaulted student loan or anything will not prevent it, except past due child support that states report to the treasury. If the IRS has your updated address, they will mail a check unless in the last two years you filed and included banking information.
