I used to watch Tennis constantly, when I was a kid. I remember watching a match during the women's quarter-finals, and thinking "Are they genuinely trying to out-grunt each other..?" and then "Yes... yes they are." as the two women got louder and more aggressive with every hit.
It was slightly terrifying.

Just an update on my wife, we went to the cancer doctor yesterday, she has surgery on the 11th. Doctor thinks her prognoses is good, and hopefully the surgery gets it all, with no needed radiation or chemo, but he won't know for sure until he gets in there

That's what happened with my mom. They told her she didn't need chemo and did the surgery and then whoops, looks like you needed it after all. But yeah, I hope everything goes well.

some women are, you’re right. it’s something i don’t like about the sport.

the loudest women grunters now are:

Aryna Sabalenka, Azarenka and Sharapova (still). Sabalenka and Azarenka played doubles the last few weeks.

Talk about noise

Sabalenka is hands down the loudest women’s tennis player at the moment
