I tend to stick with reputable sellers but I don't think I've ever been burned. Paypal is usually good about it.

I've had a few experiences with sellers being shady (sending the wrong thing, never sending the thing, etc.) but I've always used PayPal and between Ebay and PayPal, the buyer is pretty darn protected. I've always gotten a full refund when something goes sideways there.

Just pay attention to the ratings and you shouldn't have a problem. Ebay is also overtly buyer-friendly so they will almost always side with you if there is an issue.

Source: I buy a lot of Funkos and Asian skincare stuff off eBay. Like, a lot.
