i forget that the Padres still play baseball sometimes. they have a beautiful ballpark too

Petco is amazing! If anyone goes for a game there, definitely check out downtown, the Coronado bridge, zoo etc (make a nice vacation of it). If you're just there for a day or two and want to eat some great Mexican food there's a place called Lolita's literally 3 minutes walking distance from the park. It is wonderful.

San Diego has a top 5 farm system and just signed aforementioned 28 year old star from the Royals, they're on the upswing,

The only problem with that deal the Padres made was it's for $144 mil with $100 mil due the first 5 years and he can opt out after the first 5. I don't know how the Padres will be 2/3 years from now and if he'll opt out 2 years later. I root for them though, just not against my Braves.

It was a gut punch when that trade went down. Houston got one of the all-time greats right there.

honestly when the trade first went down i wasn't crazy excited about it, but Houston didn't give up too much given the circumstances and taking on a contract like that isn't the end of the world when going for a title. I was dead wrong. He was clutch as nails. Saved the Astros in the ALCS against Yankees in Game 6 when Astros were facing elimination. Plus he didn't lose at all in the reg season after the trade went down

Ah baseball fans, must be nice to have something to cheer for I just watched the Royals walk away from all their good players. It's great let me tell ya.

Red Sox fan here. We are all excited up here in Boston because the Red Sox signed JD Martinez this week. He hit 45 homeruns. The Red Sox were last in home runs in AL so signing JD has caused quite the buzz up here.

It's an awesome deal actually, I was pissed when I saw what he got and the Royals let him go. It's basically 5 for 100 that's fair value.
